Get ready to visit the Cape Cod town of Wellfleet—home to many natural wonders and opportunities for outdoor recreation. “Wonders of Wellfleet” visits Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to learn about the Wellfleet Bay ecosystem, including an encounter with some newly hatched diamondback terrapins! Also featured is a paddle along the Herring River to Great Island with Rideaway Adventures, and a boating trip to Jeremy Point facilitated by Wellfleet Marine Corp, which rents boats on the harbor. We also hike the beautiful Great Island Trail and get a tutorial on harvesting wild oysters with independent oysterwoman Sonya Woodman. Last but not least, we check out the eclectic Frying Pan Gallery owned by local artists Steve and Sarah Swain.
