By Tom Richardson

Official Film Trailer: Kineo Version

Explore New England Media’s second hour-long feature documentary film “Moosehead Magic” focuses on north-central Maine’s Moosehead Lake Region. Shot over the past two years, “Moosehead Magic” covers the seasonal changes in this wild and beautiful part of Maine, and explores the surrounding rivers, lakes, mountains, and forest through a wide range of activities that include camping, hiking, ATV-riding, paddling, snowmobiling, fishing, boating, moose-watching, seaplane-flying, skiing, ice-racing, and even diving. Interviews with local residents and business owners provide insight to Moosehead’s appeal as an exciting destination and a fine place to live and work.

“I’ve visited Moosehead since I was a kid,” says Explore New England producer and host Tom Richardson, “but it wasn’t until I started working on this project and met the folks who live here that I began to appreciate the many facets of the region. There’s so much to do, so many fascinating places to see, so much history. Trying to capture it all in an hour-long film was a challenge.”

The film is funded in part by the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT). “MOT saw this as a wonderful opportunity to support and showcase one of Maine’s premier destinations to the rest of New England and beyond. The beauty and diversity of this region is best captured on film, and we are all looking forward to the airing of the show,” said Maine Office of Tourism Director Steve Lyons. Assisting in production was the Moosehead Region Marketing Organization.
