Welcome to the Great North Woods of New Hampshire

The Great North Woods region is located in the remote northern tip of New Hampshire. It’s a land of big lakes, rivers, towering forests, roaring rivers, and unique people who enjoy rugged forms of outdoor adventure. Outdoor activities are available in every season, and include fishing, camping, hiking, boating, hunting, paddling, ATV riding, mountain biking, skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, showshoeing and wildlife watching.

Major towns in the area include Colebrook, Columbia, Errol, Berlin, and Pittsburg, each with its own unique character. Many towns also host special events, including the North Country Moose Festival in Colebrook, the Umbagog Wildlife Festival in Errol, both in August, and the River Fire in Berlin in October.
