Hiker Airlifted from Mt. Katahdin

A 20-year-old hiker was airlifted by helicopter from Maine’s Mt. Katahdin after losing consciousness on the Knife Edge Trail on Sunday, Aug. 27. According to the Boston Globe, the hiker experienced an unknown medical issue after reaching the summit of Katahdin at around 5:30 PM on Saturday, then collapsed while descending the mountain via the Knife Edge, where she was forced to spend the night. The hiker was taken to a Bangor hospital Sunday morning via a Maine Army National Guard helicopter and was reported to be in stable condition.
