Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Nears Completion

The Lamoille Valley Rail Trails spans 93 miles across northern Vermont.

As of mid-December, three more sections of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) are now open for public use. The newly opened sections are: Danville to Hardwick, Wolcott Village to Morrisville, and Cambridge to Sheldon. The final remaining segment—Hardwick to Wolcott Village—is expected to be completed in early February 2023.

The LVRT is a 93-mile trail that extends from the Connecticut River Valley to within two miles of Lake Champlain. It’s a four-season, multi-purpose recreation corridor for walking, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The entire trail is scheduled to be open in early 2023.
