Northern New Hampshire experienced severe flooding from Hurricane Beryl last week, causing damage to roads, bridges, homes, and off-road hiking and ATV trails.
The local ATV community has been severely impacted, and now local clubs are struggling to make and fund repairs. Many trails have been closed, while the damage to others is still being assessed. Companies who rent ATVs and cater to ATV riders in the North Country are facing a lean season.
The region was just starting to recover from damage to the trail system last season. Last year, Pittsburg alone was faced with some $2 million worth of trail infrastructure repairs, and many trails had to be closed.
ATV and other off-road riders should check with local clubs and riding websites before making a trip to the North Country.
