Over the past eight months, Explore New England’s host and editorial director Tom Richardson and filmmaker AJ Derosa have been gathering footage for ENE’s first hour-long feature film. Titled “Seeking the Source”, the film explores the incredible variety of outdoors activities available in the North Country of New Hampshire, with a focus on the 410-mile Connecticut River, which has its headwaters near the Canadian border and has shaped the history and culture of the surrounding countryside.
So far, Tom and AJ have captured some amazing footage of fly fishing, paddling, ATV riding, camping, snowmobiling, and snow-shoe trekking, along with stops at local restaurants, breweries and other sites of interest. They’ve also interviewed a half-dozen residents of the region, who have shared their thoughts and insights about the area and what makes it so unique among New England destinations.
You can get a sneak preview of the film by watching the accompanying trailer. The finished film is scheduled to air on NESN in fall 2019. Stay tuned!
